12 FAVORITE SKITS FROM THE PILOT EPISODE OF SNL (PART 1)

This show is without a doubt my all time favorite skit show. It's funny, it's memorable, the casting is great, the guests are unforgettable, the characters are iconic, the jokes still make us laugh, it'll never die or be forgotten. From every complication DVD of SNL and season DVD I will be picking my favorite skits. So let's start with the shows pilot episode and pick my favorite skits from there. Here are...

MY TOP  12 FAVORITE SKITS FROM THE PILOT EPISODE OF SNL

NUMBER 12

BEE HOSPITAL

This was the start of the funny reacquiring skit where the actors would dress up as Bees and make Bee jokes and puns. This one is just about the male Bees receiving a different type of a baby Bee which is pretty clever. On top of it, it's in the style of a dramatic show series which turns this comedy into a drama but it's so silly that you just can't take it seriously. It's a great start to this reacquiring skit just wish it were longer. The skit didn't do so well when it came out, in fact it's still held as the weakest Bee Skit from the show but personally I enjoyed it ok, it's not great or as clever as I build it up to be, but it's short, sweet, simple, goes to the joke and starts a whole mess of Bee sketches.

NUMBER 11

THE WOLVERINES

This is the first skit to ever be put on the show and it stars John Belushi and Michael O'Donoghue. John Belushi plays a European immigrant that's learning English from a professor played by Michael O'Donoghue. John Belushi is hysterical with the accent and Michael O'Donoghue is great as the professor teaching him English. The best part in this short skit is Michael has a heart attack and collapses and John (thinking it's part of the lesson) pretends to collapse with him. After the skit Chevy Chase walks in saying the famous intro "Live from New York it's Saturday Night"! Three of the best SNL cast members in the starting skit to the show with funny acting and a hilarious pay off is all you need to start the show.

NUMBER 10

NEW DAD

Picture having a loving father but then if something should happen to him, he gets replaced by another loving father who's there to not only take care but to help financially. Personally as a young adult going through divorcee with his parents, I find this really funny because it makes me wonder if life could be easy as that, just minus a guy trying to be father to me. Dan Akyrod and Chevy Chase are funny as these two father and what Chase does at the end is cruel but you just have to laugh it. I also laughed at how they get rid of father number 1. On top of it, this was the start of the commercial skits and boy did it start on the right foot. I should mention that we won't be seeing other commercial sketches on the list, not because they're not funny but we're just looking at my favorites.

That's all for now, tune in next week for part 2
